Package Management With Debian and Derivatives

I use aptitude as my main package manager in Debian. I don't remember why exactly, though I seem to recall that aptitude was advocated by the Debian manula at the time I switched. In any case, it's served me well enough, and it means I don't have to memorize a batch of apt-* commands.
